Dry Sand Dunes to Wetlands

Today you long anticipated and exciting journey begins, boarding your international outbound flight to Windhoek.

Upon arrival at Windhoek Airport, you will be met by our meet and greet team with a sign clearly showing your booking name. The team will give you a full briefing about your trip including driving directions. Then you will be driven to your layover location in Windhoek, the team will be with you when the car is delivered to make sure everything is in order, and answer questions if you have any.

Just after breakfast you will leave Windhoek headed south to the NamibRand Nature Reserve, this drive is approximately six hours. Leaving early in the morning will give you a chance to get there in time for an afternoon nature drive or scenic walk. Have an amazing time with the activities on offer with your professional guide. All activities here are well-guided by knowledgeable guides. You can enjoy morning and evening safaris and walks with endless views as well as full days out on the reserve with a picnic lunch.

Leaving the NamibRand Nature Reserve, you will head north to the Sesriem area. This drive is approximately two hours, gives you plenty of time to explore the reserve on your way out. Your second day is as exciting as when you arrived in this place, spend the day enjoying the spectacular views of the Namib Desert and its massive sand dunes. You can take an adventurous walk through the shifting shapes or tackle one of the bigger dunes and try to climb it. Lunch under a shady tree will be the reward of an action packed day in the dunes.

After breakfast you will drive north to Swakopmund, settled on the Atlantic Coast. In the afternoon you have an opportunity to explore the town or go on an activity , or maybe you will decide on some quad biking through the dunes. On your second day you will take a boat cruise in search of the seals and dolphins off Pelican Point. This is one of swakop’s amazing excursions and will offer you the chance to get up close to these mischievous creatures. There are plenty of other excursions to enjoy here as well such as a guided trip to Sandwich Harbour, kayaking, birding tours, or a living desert tour.

In the early mornings or deciding on what time you would like to be in Windhoek, you will drive back to today for your overnight stop. Your car will be collected in the morning from your lodge by an agent.

You will be picked up in the morning and driven to Windhoek Airport in time for your flight to Johannesburg, where you will connect to another flight to Botswana. Arriving in the early afternoon, you will be met by our meet and greet team and your pilot who brief about your flight into the okavango delta, on a light aircraft you fly over the floodplains, this is gives you an eagle view of the mighty okavango, enjoy your scenic flight as 30 mins later you will be landing at an outstanding game area on Khwai known for its endless game. When you land at the airstrip you will be met by your guide who will drive you to camp. This being your long day of travel, you might want to have a relaxed day in camp after your orientation. The scenery at machaba camp is action packed always, game comes to find you in camp.

On your second day you have the hang of what to expect on your safari, this two days of your stay, your assigned professional guide plans your activities accordingly, You will get a chance to be up close with wild animals on a walking safari, enjoy the morning and afternoon game drives, depending on what season you travel you will get the opportunity to go fishing and also depending on the water levels, explore khwai on a mokoro ride and on a motorboat cruise. This particular area is also very good for bird lovers.

You Safari ends today as you fly back to Maun, with good memories to cherish and stories to share back home. You will be met by our meet and greet team when you land in Maun to help you check in to your international flight.
